There were and are many authors who wrote numbers of books about Bali and million of people believe that Bali is a Hindu island. YES it is, but NOT 100%. So far I did not find a single book, or may be there is who wrote about the Christian of Bali, about the Buddhist of Bali and or Moslem of Bali, though numbers are not comparable with Hinduism.
Today, I come to you with a story of religions and each believers who are all Balinese leave in harmony in a community or some of them are in a family. There are about 90% Hindus, 5% are Christian, 3% are Moslem and another 2% are Buddhist. Most of them are originally Balinese, some are Javanese, Flores, Timor, Sumba, Sumatra, Celebes, Irian Jaya who were born in BALI or leave in this Island for years.

Flores is derived from the Portuguese word meaning “flowers”. The story brings us back to 1544. There was a Portuguese boat sailing from Jayakarta or Batavia which is Jakarta today to Mollucas for spices purposes. They had a problem with their boat caused some of the boat-men had to check the bottom of the boat, but they stayed longer then it should be.
Finally, they reported to their Captain that the problem has been fixed but they stayed longer because of the beauty of the sea garden beneath the sea. They have found its colorful sea corals and uncountable colorful fishes. The captain decided to dive and proved it then named that island : Cabo da Flora, late become Flores.
Flowers are not on the island, but under the sea, though we can find a lot of flowers on this island.

I believe you have known this, and I also think we all agree that Bali is a magic name. Bali is the magnet itself.
I have witnessed myself when I was in Flagstaff-Arizona, USA in 1980 to enjoy the magnificent beauty of one of the world wonder The Grand Canyon. I met too many people there but one of them an American tourist, a Russian born who approached me, probably because I was wearing a batik jacket (special design fabric that produced in Java-Indonesia) and asked me where I am from.
I explained that I am from Indonesia. He looked at me and said: “I know, it is in the Philippine“. I replied, no, I told him that it is between the Philippine and Australia. I tried to make a map on the ground to make him know where my Indonesia is. But, again He wanted to show me that He knew it. He said: “Ok Paul, I remember now, it is in Thailand“. When he knew that He was wrong, He asked me: “Where Indonesia is from BALI?“. I answered: “BALI is in Indonesia“.
